essentialsaltes: Indian skeptic charged with blasphemy

Sanal Edamaruku under attack for exposing Catholic "miracle"

Jesus statue dribbles water from its toes. Edamaruku concludes it is due to faulty drainage and capillary action. Officials of the Church call for an apology on live TV. Instead, there's a war of words.

"When they [the Church officials] saw Sanal refused to bow to their demands, they threatened to file a blasphemy case against him. And they did. Yesterday (10th April,2012) Sanal received a phone call from a Police official of Juhu Police Station in Mumbai directing him to come to the said police station to face the charges and get arrested."
